Surgery
We offer specialized veterinary surgical procedures
Slider

At Paws and Claws Medical Center, we offer all routine, general, and non-routine specialized veterinary surgical procedures. Our veterinary hospital’s goal is to provide any care your pet needs to stay happy and healthy, right here in Miami.

We understand that most pets that undergo these surgeries are nervous and often feeling unwell. Some are in distress and pain, which causes them to be afraid and potentially feel unstable. At our pet hospital, we always try to make whatever arrangements each animal needs to guarantee their safety and comfort at all times before, during and after their procedures.

Our veterinary surgeon, technicians and all support staff are highly trained to provide only the highest veterinary standards and quality of care to our patients. Before any surgical or anesthetic procedure is performed, all our patients receive a comprehensive physical exam with a complete pre-anesthetic blood-work profile. Each pet will also get an administration of presurgical medication to help with stress and pain and to reduce the need for higher doses of anesthetic drugs. They’ll also get an intravenous catheter and fluids to assure correct body perfusion and guarantee a stable patient during anesthesia.

Surgical Procedures

During these procedures we assure all our patients are closely monitored for changes to their vital signs by modern and advanced monitoring equipment. Every procedure is performed under strict aseptic techniques. This helps to prevent infection and other problems during the recovery process.

After any procedure is finished, one of our trained technicians will closely monitor all vitals until our patients are awake, alert and out of danger. Pain is managed appropriately through constant monitoring, examination and pain medications specifically tailored to each individual’s needs.
