Avian and Exotic Care
Experience in both avian and exotic animal care

Paws and Claws Medical Center is there for pet owners, and that doesn’t just mean dogs and cats. Our veterinarian is experienced in both avian and exotic animal care, including birds, rabbits, pocket pets and other exotics. Please note that though our veterinarian is always striving to help all animals, our clinic does not see spiders, primates or snakes.

Each species of animal has different needs and often presents with an illness with very different symptoms. From standard body temperature to proper molting and beak length, birds are unique animals. It can be difficult for owners to know when a bird is showing symptoms of disease, so bringing them in for regular care is important.

Wellness Exams for Avian and Exotic Animals

Wellness Exams

Similarly for rodents, rabbits, ferrets and other pocket pets, each of these animals can be skilled at hiding signs of an illness. While this trait serves them well in the wild, it can be a frustrating one for pet owners. Wellness exams for these pets can help us catch treatable conditions early on in the life of the disease, making medical care both more effective and less expensive. It can be difficult to find a Miami area exotic veterinarian who can meet the preventative care needs of your pets appropriately.
