Pet Vaccinations

Keeping your pet up-to-date on their vaccinations

Keeping your pet up-to-date on their vaccinations is a great way to ensure their overall health throughout their lifetime. The diseases that vaccines are meant to prevent in cats and dogs can have serious health consequences for your pet. These life-saving vaccines help protect the Miami pet community as well as each individual animal we see.

Each animal is unique, meaning that their vaccination plan might be different from another pet’s.

Our veterinarian will talk with you to determine the types of vaccinations your pet might need to stay safe. This depends on a number of factors, including their age, current health status, other medical conditions, species and their home environment. For example, an outdoor cat might need additional protection than one that spends their life indoors. A dog that interacts with other pets at the dog park or in a kennel might also be exposed to additional risks that we can help with through a quick shot.

Vaccination Packages

At Paws and Claws Medical Center, we try to make keeping your pets up-to-date on their vaccinations as easy as possible. For adult pets, they often receive any necessary shots at their regular wellness exam. For kittens and puppies, we make sure to work out a vaccination plan that works with your schedule, and we make sure to explain why each shot is important. Young pets often need to be kept separate from other people’s pets before their vaccination schedule has been completed to ensure their health and safety. Our veterinarian can talk with you about when it’s safe to expose them to other pets.
