Boarding for existing patients
Who we board
Boarding at Paws & Claws Medical Center is for existing patients only, by appointment, when space is available. It is not a walk-in kennel and not a 24/7 hotel. If your pet does not already have a record here, start with a medical appointment — then we can talk about a stay.
Call (786) 361-9344 to request a boarding hold. Do not show up with a carrier and hope. Appointments are required, especially for extended stays, so the doctors and staff can actually prepare.
What a stay looks like
Dogs: comfortable lodgings with dog runs, three walks a day, and a bath before going home. Extra walks are available for a fee. Cats: condos. Pets with chronic conditions are welcome; we can give medications and keep feeding schedules. A veterinarian is in the building during hospital hours if something medical happens. After we close, we are not a 24/7 ER.
Rules that are not optional
You must be a current patient. Drop-off is by appointment during normal business hours and is billed as an additional service. Wellness care must be current, including applicable lab work, x-rays, and vaccinations for that animal’s age, species, and conditions. Vaccines must be up to date. That is for the other animals in the building, not a paperwork hobby.
Bring housing, bedding, water and food bowls, and the diet you actually feed. Extra comfort items are fine. We will clean and maintain what you leave; we are not responsible for lost or damaged items. Optional add-ons (extra fee): ear cleaning, anal sac expression, bathing, nail trims, and beak or feather trims when they apply to that species.
Daycare and drop-off
Drop-off and limited daycare are offered the same way boarding is: existing patients, by appointment, based on availability. There is no open play-yard you can dump a dog into on the way to work. Call first.
After hours
Boarding happens inside hospital hours: Mon–Wed 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Thursday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Friday 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Sunday closed. We are not a 24/7 emergency hospital. If your pet is crashing and we are closed, go to a local ER — even if they sometimes board here.
