Location and hours
The hospital
Paws & Claws Medical Center is at 3858 SW 137 Avenue, Miami, FL 33175. We are a neighborhood hospital for dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, reptiles, and small mammals — not a 24/7 emergency room. Boarding is for existing patients, by appointment. Parking is on site. If you are using a map pin, search the street address, not a mall name. The phone is (786) 361-9344. Email is outreach@pawsnclawsmiami.com. Hablamos español.

The first visit, logistically
Arrive a few minutes early with the animal in a secure carrier or on a leash you control. Exotic pets should travel in a carrier, not loose in a lap. Bring diet photos, enclosure photos, and records. If you are coming for in-hours urgent care, call first so we can tell you whether to come straight in or whether the case belongs at an emergency hospital today.
When something is wrong
Common reasons people wait too long: a bird who “just looks fluffed,” a rabbit who skipped a meal, a cat in and out of the litter box, a dragon who stopped eating, a dog who “might have eaten something.” During open hours, call. After hours, we are not here. We are not a 24/7 ER. Go to a local emergency hospital. That is the entire after-hours plan. There is no on-call pager on this website because there is no on-call pager.
Husbandry we will not ignore — even at check-in
If the animal arrives overheated, in a closed parked-car carrier, or in a condition that is an emergency, we will say so at the door. Florida heat is not a minor detail. Do not leave pets in the car while you check in. Do not bring a sick bird through kitchen-air exposure if you can avoid it. We will still see the patient. We would rather you hear this before the drive than after.
Pharmacy refills: pacmc.ourvet.com/pet. Appointments: call or use the contact form for non-urgent requests. The form is not for a crashing patient.
